Eh, I don't feel like blogging right now. But it's been a few days, plus I usually try to blog on Wednesdays although I don't have any weird news for you today. So go create your own weird news instead.
We're gonnna go slightly stream-of-consciousness here if y'all are up for it.
You ever feel like you have a million projects going but you're never going to be able to finish any of them? Yeah, me too. It's a normal feeling that y'all understand, like the dishes/laundry/fixing the house/car maintenance blah blah blah ain't never gonna be done. Seriously, 3 loads a day of dishes and laundry each gets old real fast. But since being naked and hungry isn't really an option...OK, so the hungry thing isn't really an option...
Since I'm not at school all day every day anymore, I have more time. So I'm creating awesome space for the kids in their rooms. Bud wants a science-space room, Sass wants an underwater room, Pickles wants a "Dojo" room (he means Zen/meditation), and the Hamster wants a castle/dragon room. I know it sounds a little overwhelming, but if you didn't know yet, I'm an artist so it's not that difficult for me. I sound a little full of myself, but that's cause I am. I'm actually quite good. I hope that you all have a talent or skill that you are confident in because it's nice to be able to start something that you know will turn out well.
So here we are again. Now to finish those projects. My brain doesn't work that way. I work better when I have lots of things going on. Working on one thing at a time, from start to finish, is really hard for me. I used to fight it, but now I just roll with it. What gets me is when I'm out of balance with how many I have going compared to how many are close to completion. I suppose I should actually go work on some of them instead of blogging/whining about them, huh?

One more thing before I go~
Sassafras as we drive through Illinois: Mom! They had Lincoln's head on that billboard.
me: That's disgusting!!!
Sass: Moooooommmmm, it was a PICTURE of his head.
I love warping them...

Hmmmm...
I'm not feeling too inspired to whip up a nice delicious post right now. But, I figured that if I just sat down and put something on "paper", maybe I could deliver something slightly interesting.
My day started out much much earlier than I would have liked for it to. Before 6 AM actually. Which wouldn't have been too bad, except that I didn't go to sleep before 1AM. Because I was up studying. Because James wasn't home all day Saturday or Sunday. But the kids were. And they had activities. And I had activities. And I got to do them all alone. So I didn't get a whole lot of studying done over the weekend.
But you didn't come to hear me complain did you? No, you came to hear me be hilarious about mundane things involving my kids with maybe a side dish of political musings.
Well, too bad. This morning on my walk up the hill to school from the parking lot, in the cold, because it's winter here, I watched 2 high school girls walking away from the high school. Kind of curious, says I, but since I didn't really care, it was just one of those things that passes away into the dark recesses of useless memories. Until the girls started screaming cuss words. At the car following them slowly. Their MOTHER was in car! Telling them to get into the car that minute. They screamed back, lacing their objection with obscenities. And then started running down a side street. That was when the mother stopped the car and jumped out to chase them. It was all very special.
But it made me think. When did that mother lose the respect of her kids? Did she ever have it? Did she treat her children with respect? This wasn't a problem that started a month or two ago. My mother and I screamed at each other. Not very often, but I was a teenager once. We disagreed on a lot of things. But never once would I have even considered cussing at my mom. It wasn't even an option. How does a mother/child relationship make it to that point? I'm pretty confident I'm doing things with my own parenting that will make an exchange like that never happen between my own children and me. Very sad indeed.
But I'm passing all my classes. I even have 3 A's. Sorry I don't have straight A's Mom and Dad. I guess I'm not living up to my "potential". (Do the quotes in the air for me)
Anyway, that's all y'all git fer t'naht. Ahm all writed out and Ah cain't do no more.

Free Association, that's right, I said FREE - 2 grits
What natural law governs the fact that a kid will always choose the place you JUST cleaned to vomit all over? Pickles, who is hardly ever sick btw, ran into the bathroom and threw up less than an hour after I had made everything sparkly.
I took Sassafras and her Girl Scout troop to an retirement home yesterday. They sang songs to the residents and visited a little. The girls were very cute and got the older people involved. Everyone really enjoyed the singalong. The home was filled with Christmasy type stuff. But there was one decoration I could not figure out. When we first walked in, Santa's head was sitting on a table. Just his head. Decapitated and smiling and welcoming us to a happy happy singalong.
Who wants to drive, without switching off, with 4 kids, a cranky husband, a van full of gifts, 2 hamsters, 2 snakes, and a dog for 14 hours? Not you? Me neither. But alas, that is my fate. Coming soon to a GA near you.
Have I mentioned how great it is to have a deep freezer? How did I go so long without one? I no longer have to play freezer tetris every time I go shopping.
I feel very behind this year. I haven't even taken a picture of the kids, much less gotten the cards out that said pics are supposed to be in. I didn't get any decorations out until last week. Maybe I'll just leave them up until the middle of January to make up for it. I need to pack this week. All the gifts I haven't shipped already anyway. I need to do all the laundry. After I finish rewashing everything that Pickles regurgitated on.
Plus I need to get several assignments turned in. Say a little prayer for me this week. Not necessarily that I get everything done, but just that I don't go crazy trying. And I can't wait to see all my favorites in GA soooooooooooooooooooon!
