REALLY?!?
more vacations?
I don't care if O is your boy, this is getting ridiculous. 2 more trips planned and one is to FL to encourage us 'Mericans to go to the beach. Hey guess what Obama? It ain't about the possibility of oil in the water that's keeping us away. It's the lack of money! Seriously, most of us that would go visit the beaches down there know what's going on with the water. We have friends to ask, or some way or another, of finding out if there really are little balls of oil floating around near the Gulf beaches. Probably the greasiest thing down there will be your politics. My mind won't be eased in the slightest by seeing you and your family cavorting and frolicking at the shore while I try to find some part time jobs while juggling the Hamster not being in preschool because I can't afford $600 for his preschool anymore.
So I say, screw you Mr. President. And watch out for oil-slicked jellyfish...

Just ridiculous...
So, anyone else have a problem with Mrs. Prez spending about 400K on a vacay? I find it kind of appalling that the Obamas have continued to take vacation after vacation on the taxpayers' dime while we are STILL at war, while there is a massive oil mess in the Gulf, and while their fellow Americans are struggling financially. What kind of message does this send? I'm not looking for "well, Bush did..." comments either. I had my issues with him too. My concern is the current Commander in Chief and his family's actions.
and just to be fair, idiocy has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative
If you live in CO, GA, CT, or MN, GO VOTE TODAY!

Our president, finally mentions the shooting at Fort Hood almost TWO MINUTES into this address! He sounds disjointed, uninterested, and insincere...
Outrageous, saddening, inappropriate "shout-outs" - these are all just a few things that come to my mind when I watch this video.
What do you think about how Obama reacted to this tragedy?

Update on yesterday's post
The White House is rethinking President Obama's address to schoolchildren next week. While the speech was touted as a pro-education and pro-American, many people, including myself, saw it as something a little more ominous. Exactly what kind of education would Pres. O be pushing? This article says that activities such as writing letters on how the kids could help the president would accompany watching the video. I'm not thrilled by the thought of this. I don't want to think about Bud (age 6) thinking of ideas about how to help the commander-in-chief who is trying to push his healthcare reform through in less time than it took him to pick out a dog for his little girls. Obviously it would be more along the lines of recycling and the usual govt education brainwashing topics, but still. The question was NOT, 'think not what your country can do for you, but what YOU can do to help the President'.
Yes, we should help each other.
Yes, a healthy country is a wealthy country.
Yes, we have a responsibility to help people who need it.
But, we do not need it crammed down our throats by an overzealous, under qualified (but probably very intelligent and a nice guy) President. Sorry, that's how I feel about it.
We also need to think just a little about how this type of address would have been received had George W. Bush tried to do it. Would school boards across the country have jumped at the chance to have a day filled with the patriotism and commitment to education that they say this address would have been about? I'm not so sure they would have.
That being said, I like W's education reforms less than I like the idea of O's schoolchildren address. No Child Left Behind?!?! Another blog post, another day...

Newspeak and the Thought Police coming to a T.V. near you!
Can you say Nineteen Eighty-Four, boys and girls? Now that the president has control of a major network, tell me how the Socialist States of America will play this out. How long before they set a protocol for things you can say and things you can't say? How long before they set a protocol about things you can show and things you can't? I know this sounds like a fairly extreme conspiracy theory, but this kind of thing scares the hell out of me. This is not a news source anymore. ABC has become a propaganda machine.

Weird News Wednesday
Do you have blue eyes? Then we're cousins! Researchers have decided that there was a single mutation bajillions of years ago that turned off a certain gene making someone's eyes brown. So some cavewoman had a blue-eyed baby and that baby probably mated with a relative. Hey! Don't hate on the cavebaby! I'm sure the dating pool wasn't that big back then. And so on, and so on. Which leads to me. Which everything does, right? Well, on this blog anyway.
And when you blue-eyed cousins come to visit, we can hang out in my new invisible tree house! Ok, so I don't have one yet, but when I grow up, I'm totally gonna build me one.
This one is for my mom and dad. The mayor of Snellville, GA, my hometown, has asked for a police escort to go to the bathroom. He's sort of afraid of the automatic hand dryer. No, not really, he's just afraid of a council member. Just remember, the next time you call the police, and it takes a few extra minutes while you're being stabbed/robbed/raped, that the police are busy. Don't worry, the cops will get there, right after Mayor Oberholtzer flushes and washes his hands. To my non-Snellvillian readers - the city's motto is "Everybody's somebody in Snellville." Doesn't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?
Here's a story that actually IS warm and fuzzy. Russian scientists are producing goats who produce human milk. Got that? Let me say that again. Goats will give human milk. I really don't have any thoughts on that now, I have to wrap my mind around it first. But I do know *for a fact* that Victoria Secret has followed suit by coming up with a special line of bras just for goats.

See the Amazing Michelle jump through flaming hoops!
Could you please tell me, seeing that the MAN is blind, and in graduate school, and I, the Amazing Michelle, am about to start school again, we have a negative income (virtually), and the 3 older Things are in school...Why? WHY? wouldn't we qualify for even partial childcare for the Hamster? I by no means feel entitled to it. I mean, obviously the gubment did NOT force me to download 4 tricycle motors, it was very much my choice and in a truly capitalist environment I would be on my own, but... the programs are there and if welfare mamas can use them, then I don't really feel that guilty about trying to get some too. It's only for a couple years and then I promise I'll pay back into it till I'm dead. And with death taxes, beyond. So, do any of y'all know any rich patrons who would be willing to fund the Hamster's preschool? Otherwise, I guess I can always work nights at Target and go to school during the day. I can just sleep when I'm dead...
